Time is close

Well we are nearly there, I the Optimist and Mel the Pessimist and we are both saying different times that we are going to be in. I am saying this week and Mel doesn't think that that will happen. Time will tell! Rain has halted the progress of our fences and should still be completed by the end of the week, we need some dry days so the driveway dries and then we can unload all of our stuff inside. No Photo's as yet as not much has changed since last report, just the little things.

  1. Hi there,
I've been following your blog because I'll be building a Santorini in Stage 3 :)
    Your house is looking fantastic!
Just wondering what sort of slab you were quoted and what you ended up with? Rumour has it that there's a lot of P class slabs going up now, and I think Metricon only quoted us on a M class. Wondering how much more our site will cost than the $12,000 we were quoted?
    Thanks!

  2. Hi Rebecca,
Thank you for you feedback, we think it looks pretty good aswell. We have a P class slab due to moisture conditions in the soil and also because of the trees that run beside our house we had extra footings put into the slab structure, our original slab price was $13042.00 for M class. Once all the tests come back it cost us a further $3295 for P class and the extra footings due to the trees. If your block is flat and they don't hit rock you shouldn't pay any more than quoted. I hope that this helps and feel free to ask any questions before and once you get started.
    Thanks Pat
